Battle of the beatz 2006 - VII: reviews by hanuman tribe
dark moody pad in the intro.. clear hats, well.. sweet melody, ay! hmm.. the pianos.. sounds lika 720degree release =) sometimes another, darker tuned open hat/crash drops in - this doesnt fit imo. but everything all works fine! well done! yeah! a swingin break! whoho, i like that tune =D even the eq processing of the total track is not that after my fancy (to me its too present in the highs, and the mids/deeper mids were too low) its in his musicality the most consequent and homogen track in this compo imo. well thought-out & with love in the detail - good job mate!
cool percussions intro.. they got good sounding space. yay, sounds very professional. everything fits well together, good selection of sounds/samples. the break is fresh. but to me the sub is too low.. and all track long a lil bit monotone.. but that fact doesnt matter. the only sad thing is the missing BASS!! if there would be more bass, i would give this one one full point more, its a pity =( !
ah, this intro sounds very professional. deep dude! cool sounds, the flutes are great. drumlayers fit very well, theyre rollin! but the 16s hat is too sharp i think. the titel storyteller fits quite good. could be a soundtrack for an oriental night shot over dubai hehe not very varied, but this one hasnt to be. n1!
haha, i know that basswap sample in the intro all different synths fit together.. build-up creates pressure. drums are rollin with ghosts, well. he uses a lot of different sounds, that makes this tune eclectic many little breaks, nice.. and the build-ups after the breaks are all proppa. nice jumpy tool!
deep n dark intro. the sounds well programmed & trimmed. good buildup.. rollin drumz. mainpart does his challange, but all tune long too monotone imo. yep, the sounds are very good, but i'm always lookin for some freshness, and i didnt find it here.
yep, track nr. two. drums are way better programmed, they re rollin. simple but effective bassline. and moody padswells, nice one. but what im waitin for is a climax.. the level of intensity i almost the same the whole tune long..
hmm.. voice sounds distorted - consciously? good singer, yep! but the vocals are the only organic, varied part of this tune.. until.. 3:10.. then: funny bleepsounds =D aight. but sounds bit half-baked to me.. even the fade-out outro..
hey, first tune and a bootlewg, nice! idea well realized.. a lil bit quiet, the whole tune.. drums not punchy enough. and they need more alternation imo. but good arrangement..
nice vibe.. reminds on oldskool tunes from 95 just read "2006 vip" so its maybe an rmx of an older tune. hm.. what else to say.. sounds homogen & nice, but nothing really progressive / cuttin edge.. nice for chillout after a hard weekend =)
hey, alomst every intro sounds bit mystic & dark here haha hm..drumwork sounds & programming saounds bit weird & chaotic.. and the drums got no punch. the melody is to often heard, nothing recent in here. stabsounds in break sounds like 80s synthpopband. not my pair of shoes.
hm, this tune is very low, too. the hypnotic vocals doesnt show to advantage enough. and the drums are slack. even the musical idea behind this tune is good, it's not realized consequent.
