London Bridge ( Bluntman Remix ) by Bluntman: LOL… after 5 seconds

Submitted by King_Louis on Sat, 2007-06-09 18:42.

LOL… after 5 seconds I though I’d hate this… and I really like it lol!  For what it is, it’s a cool tune.. people will moan about it being cheesy and jump up or whatever… good luck to you I say!  People should go out more and see what destroys a club.. not just neurostep.  Nice one!  P.s. I do think it’s a bit cheesy by the way, but I like a bit of cheese lol I think I would by this.  I’d roughen up the reeces at the end of each 16 bars if I were you though.

Massive by Noctuary: Liked the pad work.  Some

Liked the pad work.  Some of the squelchy filtering in the intro was a bit random for me though.  Liking the vibe a lot man.  Like a mashup of photek (atmos), chase and status (beats) and teebee (bass).

I think that’s a fucking big compliment lol.  Excellent compositional skills.  I reckon you need to carry on refining your engineering though.  Nothing that sticks out.. you are clearly competent.  But I think if your engineering stepped up a notch or too you’d get this signed.  Sorry I can’t be more specific.. beats definitely could hit more.  This track is definitely a potential winner.  Well done!  I think I would by this.

losing sleep by obscure: Nice ideas but I think your

Nice ideas but I think your engineering lets it down.  I think you need to work on your beats a bit more to get them more heavy.  I liked the arp / melody 00:45 and throughout the tune, it gave it a very black dog / global communication feel – which I love.  Would love to know how you made it.  I didn’t like the vocal sample though and it was too high in the mix.

I reckon more low end on the beats… maybe A/B more with released stuff.  I mean the kick roll moving into the first drop just sounds plain weak to me.  You may also need an outtro Smiling

But you should be pleased, it feels really nice in the vibes department.. engineering is easier to lock down than tune writing IMO.

Necrophobia by Harikiri: Good atmospheres.. nice use

Good atmospheres.. nice use of the amen.  Thought beats in general could be heavier, but I really like the tone of the beats.. metallic.  Like the horror drop… good after the drop.  Good energy and ideas.. would benefit from some better engineering on the mid-basslines and the beats.  Not too sure about the stabs that start at 2:15….  Snare is nice.  So yeah… good vibe, nice and hard.. just needs a few frequencies adjusted here and there (beats and mids) and you’re sorted! I think I would by this.

Rehab by Golem AKA Pyre: Nice beats and pad work in

Nice beats and pad work in the intro.  The tune didn’t really grab me though.. it seems like it’s all competent.. I think it just isn’t my style.  You can’t please everyone though so I wouldn’t worry too much about me.  Nice production though!

casim by UNDERSIDE: Not so keen on vocals like

Not so keen on vocals like this in my DnB tbh.. so on a taste level I’d say no.  But you can’t please everyone eh?  Productionwise it’s very nice.  Very punchy beats.  Breakdown @ 1:10 seemed to be a bit detached from the intro.  Good tune.. a bit confused.. sounds like a bit much of a change of direction to me.  Liking the beats a lot!  Heavy, nice rides and good bongos.  Bass is OK… not really feeling the tune though.  More a taste thing.. appreciate it engineeringwise though.  Ooh… not sure about that comb filtering!  I’d delete that!  Sorry..!  Like the second drop though..  Seems to be three tunes.. intro, first drop and second drop.  I’m guilty of doing this myself man.  Really want to develop things but sometimes it can be a collection of good ideas rather than cohesive.. sorry man!  Found some of the “epic” pad work a touch cheesy too I’m afraid.  Great engineering though.

Feeling Blue by DJ Scape: Nice track.. thought

Submitted by King_Louis on Sat, 2007-06-09 18:43.

Nice track.. thought everything was pretty cool… but I reckon that your amen’s not really in tune with the rest of the track if you get me?  Everything else cuts through really well… id say you need to eq the amen differently or layer something more over it so it cuts like the vocals and synths.  Not that sure about the musical direction after the second drop… a bit happier… I liked it more after the first drop when it was blue.  Piano was a bit too “nice” and “jazzy” for me.

the bass episode by synrgy: Liked the intro…

Liked the intro… wasn’t keen on the synth melody after the first drop though.. sounded a bit cheesy.  Sorry!  Nice bass though.. and nice atmospherics too.  I liked the build up to the second breakdown… although I’m afraid it was a bit too epic for me… again didn’t like the synth work in the breakdown… good drop though!  Maybe bring the beats in the mix up a bit?  Nice rolls on the beats.
