this track is another major

this track is another major highlight for me in this round of competition.  It's my kind of track, for sure, and I think it's also on a major step up from a lot of what I usually hear in this competition.  (my own stuff included, honestly.)

It's like... good progressive house (not an oxymoron, I assure you) meets drum n bass.  I like how it builds a lot for the most part, though I felt it took a little too long to get to the real meat of the track.  What I LOVE is that every time you get used to the elements, the track shifts and adds another element.  It constantly moves and changes.  Trippy, for starters, and very cool.

I WISH this had been a higher quality mp3, because this track is DOPE.  Great spreads on your atmospherics, bassline comes through great, so does everything else.  I love that you made a great track without using any typical breaks.  That's a job I have yet to accomplish at the level you did with this track, and frankly I'm jealous.

I don't have much to say, criticism wise.  Not much at all.  Pretty much.. Nothing!! Smiling

The only thing keeping you from winning in my eyes is that 2 of the other competitors wrote equally good tracks that just jump out of my fucking speakers and grab my soul self.  Know that despite that, I would GLADLY mix this track in one of my sets.  (please?  can I have a 320?  *grin*)

I was going to give you a 9.9, because I'd already given out 2 10s, and I like those 2 tracks a HAIR better than this one, but then I figured that's just my taste.  If I have NOTHING to contribute criticism wise, than I can't take any points away.

Mix/Eq - 5
Arrangement - 5
Total Score - 10

You know, I never gave any tracks a 10 until this round of competition, and this round I gave out 3.  I gotta step my game up for sure, you guys are awesome.

156 - Royalston - Interesting dark and futuristic vibe to this one.   Good dropsout and fills.

The atmospheres and non-rhythm part would work well in most electronic genres in my opinion...probably more commonly found in trance and house.  Very techy overall, pretty much straddling the tech house/dnb line...its all down to that kick pattern I reckon.

Lots of stuff going on, really well mixed too.  Among my top 3.

great production, that beat

great production, that beat is tight. good progression bringing in the different sounds, nice transition into the breakdown, sounds great! love the second drop, sounds great around the 4:10 mark.

oh yeah nice drums in this intro... that background pad may be a bit hot on the lower-mids. love the percussion here. perhaps just a bit less delay. sub hits veeery nice! oh yeah, i'm diggin this track alot. very nice synthwork. all the elements seem to sit perfect in the mixdown too. great panning. hard to find anything i don't like on this one. maybe a change in the way it transitions into the break at 2:52, it just seems a tad abrupt there. perhaps i wouldv'e changed/deleted the percussion towards the second half of that break... but damn, the way it drops after that is fuckin sick. i really like this track alot.

#156.  The beats are crisp.  Kinda an eerie intro, like how the bass comes in.  The drop on 1.55 is nice, this tunes got a sci fi feel to it.  All round well produced tune, this hits the spot.  This would have me locked on at a rave.

nice neuro funk thingie.

nice neuro funk thingie. really digging that one. Drums are really tight. The whole mixdown is actually really well done. Although the whole song sounds a little bit repetitve after a while. Escpecially that pi pi pa synth with the echo. Other than that I haven't anything really precise to say about the song, as I'm no tech guru.

snare is too

snare is too crisp, especially in beginning. the noise (windy bit)needs a slower attack. nice progression. lots of detail. a bit too much panning movement.

A really well produced

A really well produced track, technically this is up the top of the pile, i didn't really get into it though. it didn't seem to have anything that grabbed me and there kept being odd things that sound out of place. Like the thing that sounds like a drill, i got a bit annoyed with that. Production wise, this is sweet but I think it needs something else musically, but i don't know what, sorry.

Intro is tight and sraight

Intro is tight and sraight to the point..That bass line hits hard ,like that synth sound or whatever it is,mixed and produced well....had this one turned up loud, love that bass. Nothing too complain about with this track, another club banger.

nice pad, nice n dark, beat seems good im liking it so far. i also like the other wierd synth that comes in, i like the pace of this one. not really into the drop to be honest, doesnt seem like it drops obviously enough, like with there not being much of a buildup. well produced though man, one cant please everyone though innit.

intro sounds nice, although

intro sounds nice, although i think that break could do with more variation as it gets bring fast, intro fx is nice but a few more elements would make it better, im not keen on the bassline much, by the way im guessin your new here, what you got to do mate is to erase your tracks TAG m8 this comp is all about being anonamous welcome to botb m8!
